Ananda Bhav is a Sanskrit term that means "a state of bliss; a state of joy." This is the promise of yoga and we think you'll find that here. Our boutique studio is dedicated exclusively to the practice of Svaroopa® yoga. We offer smaller classes in an intimate setting to allow each student more personal attention
and hands-on assistance. Our instructors are trained by Rama Berch and Master Yoga Foundation. We are qualified to teach at varying levels relative
to the standards set forth by the Yoga Alliance.
Our intention...
To provide education, support, and illumination in all realms of yogic practices.
We are personally immersed in the very practices we teach, and so we speak from direct experience as we guide students along the yogic path. We are committed to continually expanding our knowledge
of the practices of Svaroopa hatha yoga, naada yoga (chanting), yoga therapy, yoga philosophy and meditation so that we may offer only outstanding instruction and services.
Our vision...
To create a yoga community that fosters acceptance, personal growth and transformation. We envision Ananda Bhav Yoga to be a haven for fellowship, learning, self-discovery and healing.
Our mission...
To nurture and facilitate an expanded sense of Self in each individual through the practice of physical, mental, emotional and spiritual exploration that is yoga.

Jody Grombach
RYT 500, LMT
Jody teaches both Beginning and Continuing Level classes and workshops at Ananda Bhav Yoga. She also offers private yoga instruction, and healing sessions in yoga therapy. In April
of 2008, she will complete her 500-hour certification and begin her studies in advanced training as a yoga teacher and therapist.
Jody has been working with the body for the past 12 years as a massage therapist, using myofascial and neuromuscular therapy techniques in combination with posture education to help foster
awareness and wellness. During her early training, she developed her uniquely intuitive abilities as a bodyworker, and learned in depth about the clinical anatomy of pain.
Jody has a very personal perspective on chronic pain and immobility through her own experience with herniated discs and sciatica. It was the practice of Svaroopa yoga that allowed her to
finally overcome these symptoms. Through Svaroopa's compassionate approach, Jody found she was able to let go of the effort to fix herself, and instead begin to heal herself. As the
physical pain began to melt, an awareness of what lies beneath it and within it led her to a deeper understanding of the mind/body connection.
Jody's continuing studies with Rama Berch and Master Yoga have allowed her to personally experience the healing potential of yoga on all levels -- physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Her greatest passion is to inspire others to come home to their bodies, and in so doing, find rest and comfort there.

Ian Boccio
RYT 200
Ian leads regular mantra chanting sessions at Ananda Bhav Yoga, channelling the harmonious, healing energy of that ancient yogic practice through his deep, sonorous voice for the benefit of the Ananda Bhav community
and towards the goal of a lasting world peace. He has been involved with music for 20 years, primarily as the bass guitarist in an assortment of rock, jazz and folk bands, but also working as a recording
engineer and music producer.
Ian began studying mantra yoga and the associated practice of chanting in 2005, bringing his many musical skills into the service of chanting artists, both in the local
Philadelphia area and with a few nationally touring chanters. After experiencing the Hindu saint, Shri Karunamayi, in the spring of 2007, he felt that he had been given a direction and purpose
for his mantra practice and, taking on the role of lead vocalist, began chanting in a more traditional style. His mantra chanting sessions are often done solo - he accompanies himself on harmonium or ektar - or
in the company of some of the excellent percussionists who live in and around the Atlanta area.
Ian discovered Svaroopa Yoga in 2005. Because of the incredible changes the yoga helped him to
achieve in his life, he entered the Teacher Training program in 2006 and he can occasionally be found teaching some of the beginning level Svaroopa classes at Ananda Bhav Yoga. He handles many of the
administrative responsibilities for the studio and serves as Ananda Bhav's in-house graphic and web designer.

Sandy Rushton
Sandy Rushton has always been guided by a lifelong interest in understanding the nature of the mind and the Self. She has been making art in some way for most of her life, and has explored the connection between creativity and spirituality through various practices. Sandy received her Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt, she became interested in philosophy, and in particular, where philosophies, science and physics converge. She discovered yoga in college and enjoyed doing hatha yoga, but was more interested in the philosophical aspects.
After many years being a mother and an artist, she stumbled upon Svaroopa yoga. This practice has been a wonderful melding of all she has learned through her years of searching and studying. After two years as a Svaroopa yoga student, Sandy took the Foundations training to deepen her own experience. Though teaching had not been her intention, she had an opportunity to try it, and quickly fell in love with sharing this beautiful practice. Sandy has since gone on to take more Svaroopa yoga teacher training, and looks forward to delving deeper into the practice with subsequent trainings.
"Teaching yoga has been a wonderful way to bring together many of my interests, while allowing me to share a powerful set of tools that can help people enhance all aspects of their lives for themselves."

Aba Bailey
Aba Bailey has been an active participant and trailblazer in Atlanta's holistic and natural health community for the past 30 years. She began her quest in having a healthy lifestyle by working as a vegetarian chef, eventually opening her own vegetarian restaurant, Health Paradise, in downtown Atlanta in the late 70's. Aba later wrote and co-produced an award-winning cable TV vegetarian cooking show, Cooking with Aba - all before there was a Food Network. She is also a certified living foods instructor and chef from the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute in California.
Aba graduated from the Atlanta School of Massage in 1983. She has been a practicing massage therapist at Atlanta’s premier day spa for over 20 years. Aba has studied various styles of yoga and has been teaching since 2004. She appreciates that Svaroopa yoga is safe and gentle, while at the same time very effective and accessible to most people. Aba recently completed the Foundations level of Svaroopa yoga teacher training, and is looking forward to continuing her training.
